For more than 50 years, Mitzvah Corps has been the premier provider of social justice experiences for high school students, giving teens the opportunity to travel the world, build meaningful relationships with one another and their global peers, understand the complexities and challenges facing various communities, take action on issues they care about, and embrace the ways that Judaism empowers them to enact real change

Jonah Freelander & Alexa Broida

directorsJonah Freelander has been working with Mitzvah Corps for 4 years. Since graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 2007, he has committed himself to the development of meaningful educational experiences for youth both domestic and abroad. Jonah was active in NFTY and a longstanding camper & staff member at the URJ Eisner Camp. He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Alexa Broida grew up in San Diego, California, and currently lives in Philadelphia. She graduated from UCLA in 2007, and obtained a Master’s in Business and Organizational Science from George Washington University in 2014. Alexa has been working for the Reform Movement since 2009, engaging teens through social justice with Mitzvah Corps, and creating opportunities for them to live relevant, positive Jewish lives.
