Description

This daily travel program for teens and young adults with special needs is packed with exciting day trips into the community and lots of opportunities for the development of friendships and social skills. Trip destinations include beach days to the Jersey shore, water and amusement parks, summer fairs and more. This program is supervised by experienced staff who provide campers  with the necessary support to ensure a successful camp experience.  4:1 Camper to staff ratio.

Director

Marisa Cohen

Marisa is the director of the Special Needs Services Department at the JCC MetroWest. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology and then earned a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from New York University. This specialized degree focuses on working with the special needs population and assisting them in living their lives as independently as possible.

Chrystal Henion

Chrystal is the assistant director of the Special Needs Services department at JCC MetroWest. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies. After graduating she served two years in the Americorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program before joining CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children of Bergen County as a Case Supervisor. Chrystal’s work with CASA involved work with all types of families including those with special needs.
