Jewish Camp FAQs

What camps are considered “Jewish Camps”?

The overnight camps and teen programs within our network are those that are a part of the national Foundation for Jewish Camp’s (FJC) network of residential Jewish programs. You may read about the criteria for joining the FJC network here. These are not religious programs per se, rather programs build on a Jewish mission, with Jewish values woven through the program. There is a celebration of Shabbat and connection to Israel. There’s a wide array of programs, spanning different denominations and affiliations, including many camps that are independent and more culturally-focused. We welcome families of campers of all backgrounds, including interfaith families, interested in a Jewish summer experience to contact us. We will help find the perfect summer home for your child!

Does a child need to be Jewish to attend a Jewish camp?

We welcome all families interested in Jewish camp to contact us. Jewish camp is for every child, from every background, including interfaith families. We will work with you to find a camp where your family and child will feel welcome and comfortable.
