At Jewish camp, ruach (spirit) is part of every activity – from arts and adenture to sports and STEM – allowing campers to explore their connection to Judaism in a meaningful way while having the summer of their lives. Studies show that children who attend Jewish camp are more likely to become adults who value their heritage, are engaged in their communities, support more causes, and take on leadership roles through their lives.
If you’d like guidance choosing a camp, schedule a consultation with our camp experts Tracy Levine or Gerri Russo to find the perfect camp for your child!
A family where the child attending camp includes Judaism as part of their identity, and the child and/or their immediate family member(s) were born in a country of the former Soviet Union.
Yes! This special RSJ Grant is incremental to other financial incentives for Jewish overnight camp, including Federation’s One Happy Camper grants and Rocker Family Overnight Camp Scholarships.
Once your application is approved and registration is confirmed by your summer program, the grant payment will be forwarded directly to the camp/organization during the summer. The camp may deduct the grant amount from your balance; or, if you are already paid in full or your balance is less than grant amount, you will receive a refund or credit from the camp/organization. We will advise the camp/organization to do so, and we recommend that you confirm specifics with the camp/organization directly.
Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and grant availability is limited. Thus, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible once your child has been registered for camp. The deadline to apply for a grant is May 31, 2023 (or sooner if the funding maximum is reached).
